Artem Buniakov

Artem is a Ukrainian winemaker, living in Dijon, France. Artem’s love for winemaking began at an early age, as his father imparted to him his passion for oenology. Indeed, they both desire to set up their own winery in Ukraine, as they passionately believe in their country’s ability “to produce exceptional wine” and they are “committed to contributing to the development of the wine industry in [their] country”. Sadly, the beginning of the war in Ukraine has put a pause on this project, but only for now. Artem studied Wine and Enology at the Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies, before going on to continue learning at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune. He has worked in a variety of different wineries, including Château Grand Corbin-Despagne and Domaine Berthaut Gerbet, building his knowledge and putting his studies into practice with each experience. Artem’s passion for wine extends beyond just winemaking, and also into “the cultural aspects of wine”. He is “fascinated by the history and traditions of winemaking in different regions” and firmly believes that “this knowledge can add value to [his and his father’s] winery project in Ukraine”. Artem is excited to begin his internship, as Artémis’ use of sustainable and bio practices in the vineyard aligns with his own values and ideas for his future Ukrainian winery - meaning that he will gain the necessary competencies to make his vision a reality. We eagerly look forward to Artem’s first vintage!
