Rare opportunity to bid for the limited-edition ‘Camus La Grande Marque, Hommage à Gérard Basset’ Cognac

The Gérard Basset Foundation is delighted to announce that two of the ten limited Camus Cognac bottles, created to honour the legacy of the late, world-renowned sommelier, Gérard Basset OBE will be auctioned by The Whisky Exchange, online from until February 13th 2024 with all proceeds being donated to the Foundation.

Camus Cellar Master Julie Landreau, in collaboration with Gérard’s friend and avid wine and spirits collector, Lewis Chester DipWSET, produced 10 bottles of a limited-edition blend of very old cognacs, using years significant to Gérard and his Sommelier career, in a bottle exclusively designed by Ateliers Camus and encased in a beautiful leather box.

The Gérard Basset Foundation is committed to empowering global diversity, equity, and inclusion within the wine, spirits, and hospitality sectors. Funds raised will aid in the financing of global grantee programmes which support educational and career-enhancing initiatives.

The Gérard Basset Foundation Chair, Nina Basset said “We extend our heartfelt thanks to the team at Camus for creating this extraordinary Cognac in tribute to Gérard and for their generosity in donating the proceeds of these auction lots to The Gérard Basset Foundation’. She continued, ’We would also like to thank The Whisky Exchange for providing their help and support, along with providing the platform for these auction lots’.
